Physiotherapist
I am an experienced chartered physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. I completed an MSc in Rehabilitation Science, qualifying as a physiotherapist in 2011. This further consolidated the experience I gained during my BSc Sports and Exercise Science degree and post-graduate training in Sports Massage Therapy (level 4).
Prior to working in South Devon I worked with elite athletes at the National Indoor Athletic Centre in Cardiff. After several years gaining broad experience as a senior musculoskeletal physiotherapist in the NHS, I went on to establish a successful specialist clinic at a climbing centre with my wife Eve. Whilst working in the NHS I ran the spinal rehabilitation, lower limb, hydrotherapy and acupuncture programs. In 2016 Eve and I spent over a year establishing a new physiotherapy service for disabled children in Uganda and training local health workers. From here we went on to train musculoskeletal physiotherapists in India.
In my practice I am particlarly interested in analysing human movement holistically and love the detective work which leads to the cause behind a particular dysfunction. As a sports massage therapist, Thai yoga massage therapist, and having completed several post-graduate courses in joint manipulation, I have a very hands-on and holistic approach to rehabilitation. When I’m not in clinic I enjoy kite surfing, yoga, climbing, trail running and playing the guitar. I am passionate about leading an active and fulfilling lifestyle and take great pleasure in empowering my patients to do the same.
