• About Jonathan

    Jonathan Smith MSc,BSc, FSOMM, MCSP is the principal physiotherapist and a director of Thorpe's Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic.

    Jonathan has wide expertise and experience in the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.

    Previously he worked as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist (ESP) in the NHS, assessing and treating patients with arm and leg problems in an orthopaedic clinic.

    Following the award of his first class honours degree in physiotherapy, Jonathan has specialised in musculoskeletal medicine. He has obtained an M.Sc. masters degree and fellowship of the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine (FSOMM).

    Jonathan now lectures on musculoskeletal medicine courses in the UK to both physiotherapists and general practitioners, having become a course principal for the SOMM courses. Other diplomas he has completed include injection therapy and advanced clinical practice.

    Through his private and NHS work, Jonathan has excellent links and working relationships with local medical experts such as orthopaedic consultants.

    Jonathan is HCPC registered and a member of the:
