• About Grainne

Specialist Physiotherapist in Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy. I qualified from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown with a BScHons Physiotherapy in 2008. Since then I worked in various NHS trusts in N. Ireland developing my experience in varied specialities of physiotherapy including rotations in the Royal Victoria Hospital, the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital and Altnagelvin Hospital.

In 2010 I specialised in the area of Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological physiotherapy when I took up post as a Specialist Physiotherapist in the South West Acute Hospital Enniskillen. This involves treating both men and women for issues such as bladder and/or bowel incontinence or dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor dysfunction, chronic pelvic pain, painful bladder syndromes, vaginissmus, Interstitial Cystitis, Dyspaurenial, Diastasis Recti and Pregnancy related Pelvic Girdle Pain.

In addition to my NHS post I run a private Physiotherapy Clinic with my Physiotherapist husband.

I have completed training courses delivered by the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy. I have also completed more advanced training from Maeve Whelan and completed Visceral Mobilisation: The Urological System.

In 2013 I trained with Julie Tupler to become a licensee for the assessment and treatment of Diastasis Recti. I have a particular interest in this condition and its associated implications for other urogynae dyfunction.
