Bethany Shum

Bethany Shum is a chartered physiotherapist (HCPC MCSP) who is passionate about movements, flexibility, and pain science. She started Flexibility Matters Physiotherapy, to support the performers through health education, flexibility training, and physiotherapy.

Professionally, she works as a Pain Specialist Physiotherapist in an NHS multidisciplinary team pain clinic. Outside of the NHS, she has personal and professional experience in gymnastics, circus aerial, and cheerleading. This includes her work with Team England ParaCheer (2019) and Gymnastic Commonwealth Games (2022). She completed the specialist UCL Performing Arts Medicine Programme She recently completed the specialist Performing Arts Medicine MSc Programme at UCL to enhance her skill when working with elite performers and

provided specialist health services to this population.
