About Atle Karstad
Atle graduated in 1980 (Teesside) and has been working both in the UK and abroad in both public and private sectors. He is the Musculoskeletal Lead in his Consultant role at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS FT since appointed in 2003. He is an honorary lecturer at Teesside University and has also gained an MBA from Sunderland University.
Before being one of the first Consultant Physiotherapists appointed in the UK, he managed the physiotherapy service for Newcastle Primary Care Trust from 1997-2003.
K2 Physiocare was established in 1989 and was initially part of The Medical Centre a GP surgery in Hartlepool, before moving into purpose-built state of the art premises on Park Road in the centre of Hartlepool. The practice has grown and now boasts 7 chartered senior physiotherapists, a podiatrist and an admin team ensuring excellent customer service.
In addition to providing the highest quality assessment and treatment, Atle is lecturing locally and nationally and has also lectured abroad.
When not working Atle enjoys spending time with his family and is a tennis enthusiast both on and off court.
