Physiotherapist
Andrew Oliver graduated from Coventry University with an honours degree in Physiotherapy and went of to study Acupuncture at Masters degree level. He is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, a registered physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council, and an advanced member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Since graduating, Andrew has worked in a variety of clinical settings, both within the NHS and private sector, specialising in musculoskeletal injuries, particularly chronic pain conditions. In his current position Andrew is the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist for the Chronic pain Service at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.
Post-graduate courses have included numerous acupuncture, manual therapy, muscle imbalance, pain management courses, and pain conferences, ensuring up-to-date and evidence-based practice which is close to Andrew’s heart.
Andrew’s particular interest in chronic pain conditions has stemmed from his studies in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. He now specialised in this area, working closely with Consultant pain physicians, clinical nurse specialists, and clinical psychologists in the pain service.
Beyond his clinical duties Andrew is a specialist visiting lecturer in Acupuncture at Coventry University and is an accredited teacher for the AACP.
