About Thorpes Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic

Thorpes Physiotherapy Fleet is a private physiotherapy clinic, with other clinics at Yateley and Sandhurst, covering the local towns of Hartley Wintney, Aldershot, Finchampstead, Crowthorne, Farnborough and Camberley.

Our highly qualified physiotherapy staff continually learn new assessment and treatment methods to provide the best outcome for patients via a practical and individually tailored treatment plan.

We offer physiotherapy for musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries, neurological physiotherapy, paediatric physiotherapy, Pilates, acupuncture and massage. We also perform diagnostic ultrasound and injections and can give nutritional advice.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

We provide expert assessments and management for a wide variety of conditions including back pain, sciatica, neck pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, other joint and muscle pains, headaches and postural problems. Our treatments include joint mobilisations, manipulation, massage, electrotherapy including ultrasound, posture advice and exercise programmes, core stability, acupuncture, Pilates, balance and gait training and taping.

Children’s Physiotherapy

We provide paediatric physiotherapy in Fleet, Sandhurst and Yateley. We can help movement and functional abilities in children affected by delayed development, illnesses or injuries.

Our specialised physiotherapists cater for children up to 16 years with:

  • Neuromuscular problems such as cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy
  • Problems with bones and joints
  • Respiratory conditions such as cystic fibrosis and asthma
  • Before or after surgical intervention
  • Developmental delay, clumsiness or falling regularly

The initial 45-minute assessment is followed by consultation with you about the needs of your child so we can design a treatment programme.

Neurological Physiotherapy At Thorpes Physiotherapy we have a team of neuro physios who specialise in the assessment and treatment of people with neurological illnesses or damage.

We deal with many conditions including:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Stroke
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Parkinson's Disease

We cover a large area of North Hampshire, East Berkshire and West Surrey.

You can attend one of our clinics or we do home visits (domiciliary visits) if you find it difficult to get to our clinics. Our physios will teach family or carers how help with therapy programmes.

Improve Your Running with Run Lab

We use computerised technology we can now analyse a person's running style and spot problem areas.

  • Wireless sensors fixed to parts of the body allow the capture of data about running style in our computers.
  • We analyse your running style in detail by using slow-motion video of your technique
  • The results tell us where we need to test your strength and flexibility to spot inefficient parts of your running style

A printed report of the results is generated after the 60-minute appointment and then we form a plan of action. We re-test about four to six weeks later to check how the strengthening or technique changes have affected your running efficiency.

Diagnostic Ultrasound and Guided Injections

Diagnostic ultrasound scanning allows us to see inside the tissue and confirm or disprove a particular diagnosis. The results are available straight away and the testing can be done with the area moving as well as at rest.

Ultrasound is a very safe scanning system so it can be repeated to check on how treatment is going. We do scanning on tuesdays and have an experienced and expert operator who can also inject joints and other tissues under ultrasound guidance.
