About Therapy-First Physiotherapy Deansgate

Manchester has two premier physiotherapy clinics, Therapy First Physiotherapy on Deansgate and at Salford Quays. Specialised physiotherapists are on hand to assess and treat your pain problem, injury or condition.

Whether you come to our clinics for back pain, neck pain, a sports injury, after an operation or after a fracture, we can help you get over your problem and back to activity.

  • Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. We work hard at Therapy First to take a whole view of the person’s life, not just what pain they have. We want the solution to be long-lasting so you can get back to your normal life. A full history and examination is performed and then our physiotherapists can design a treatment and home exercise programme.
  • Sports Injuries. Sports exert specific stresses and strain on the human body and our sports specialist physios are skilled in diagnosing your problem in relation to the activities you perform. We understand that being unable to perform is very stressful and we have successfully rehabilitated athletes at all levels of ability.
  • Women’s Health Physiotherapy. Women’s health is a specialised area of physiotherapy and our skilled practitioners can help with many conditions related to pregnancy and childbirth. Physiotherapy has shown to be effective in problems such as incontinence, prolapse, weakness of the pelvic floor and pregnancy related pain.
  • Home Visits. If you prefer to be seen in your own home or find it hard to get to one of our clinics, a home visit can be the answer. Our skilled physiotherapists can assess and treat you at home and seeing a person in their own home has advantages as we can see how you cope in your normal life. We see people in their homes after hip replacement, knee replacement, hip fractures, pain problems and decreased mobility.
  • Acupuncture. The ancient Chinese art of acupuncture is uses, alongside physiotherapy, to relieve pain, stress or weakness by restoring the body’s natural energy balance.
  • Pilates. If you want to help your pain, improve your posture or just become stronger with better balance, we can teach you Pilates skills and you can enrol in a class to maintain them. We follow the APPI Pilates system, specifically targeted towards the skills of physiotherapists to improve pain or injury.
  • Reflexology.
  • Sports Massage.

All our physiotherapists are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
