About Optimal Physio - Clarkston

Optimal Physio is based at 11 Mearns Road, Clarkston. We also have a clinic in Largs in North Ayrshire. We understand that having pain can be frustrating, taking pain relief is not enjoyable and when this stops you doing what you love it can really impact on your mood and quality of life.

Our aim is to help you understand what is going on, get you off pain relief, avoid any future surgical intervention and get you back to the activities you love. We are also passionate about the science behind injury prevention so we create a tailored plan for you to reduce your risk and avoid any future reoccurrence.

This means all means that if you have a shoulder injury, sudden onset of back pain or have pulled a leg muscle doing sport, we can help. Our physiotherapists are experts at assessing, treating and managing these types of injuries. You don't need to see a doctor before you visit and rest is not the answer. It's understanding what is going on and what exercises will get the best results and which ones are safe to do.

We combine physiotherapy with sports science to home in on the root cause of your injury or pain condition so that we can make a rapid change in your symptoms. Then we work to return you to your optimal version of fitness and ability. We also offer sports massage, and other services.

Our initial assessments are an hour in length, as this allows our physiotherapists sufficient time to listen to your story, understand what is driving your pain and give you the understanding and advice to go along with the treatment. We make sure we understand your goals in general life, in exercise or in sport so we can focus on returning you to where you want to be either running a marathon, going to the gym classes, playing golf or playing with the children.

We offer evening and weekend appointments as we know you are often busy and our assessments include a treatment session so you can get going on your rehabilitation right away.

Sports and Running Injuries

Sports and running injuries are our specialities and we understand that being injured is frustrating and holds you back from making progress in your chosen field. Our sports injury experts can get you back into training and improving your performance speedily whether you are an amateur golfer or an elite athlete. We’re keen to see you as early as possible after you start getting symptoms, as early treatment really changes the length of time you spend away from your activity and improves the quality of your repair. We have a free ebook on our website to help you start your recovery without making some basic mistakes which we commonly see.

Back Pain

Back pain is so common that it is the injury we see the most of in our clinic. It can be incredibly worrying, painful and disabling. We understand this can mean exercise can be frightening and the thought of someone touching your back can be intimidating. We also know the majority of backs can get better and that most are poorly managed at home. Rest does not help backs and understanding where to start is the secret. We have helped a lot of people from back pain and surgery is not something we advise unless absolutely necessary. We also have a free report which identifies and explains some of the most common myths about back pain.

Whats stopping you? The most important thing you can do to help your recovery is take responsibility and ownership of your injury. This means you need to stop procrastinating and take action. We recommend you start by downloading some of the free advice we have on our website as these contain injury advice, guidance, and some simple steps to start your recovery.

Then when you are ready to accelerate your rehabilitation, book in online for an initial assessment to get a tailored treatment plan.
