About Optimal Physio

Optimal Physio at Newton Mearns are specialists in getting you better. We also have a clinic in Largs in North Ayrshire.

If you have a shoulder injury, sudden onset of back pain or have pulled a leg muscle doing sport, we can help. Our physiotherapists are experts at assessing, treating and managing musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. These include back pain, neck pain, whiplash, sciatica, sports injuries, joint and muscle pains, and repetitive strain injury.

We combine physiotherapy with sports science to home in on the root cause of your injury or pain condition so that we can make a rapid change in your symptoms. Then we work to return you to your optimal version of fitness and ability. We also offer sports massage

Our initial assessments are an hour in length, as this allows our physiotherapists sufficient time to listen to your story, understand what is driving your pain and give you the understanding and advice to go along with the treatment. We make sure we understand your goals in general life, in exercise or in sport so we can focus on returning you to where you want to be.

We offer evening and weekend appointments as we know you are often busy and our assessments include a treatment session so you can get going on your rehabilitation right away.

Sports Injuries

Sports injuries are one of our specialities and we understand that being injured is frustrating and holds you back from making progress in your chosen field. Our sports injury experts can get you back into action speedily whether you are an occasional exerciser or an elite athlete. We’re keen to see you as early as possible after you start getting symptoms, as early treatment really changes the length of time you spend away from your activity.

We also offer body composition and dietary analysis, performance analysis, sports psychology and a dedicated golf package.

Before and After Surgery

We can help you prepare for surgery by improving your joint movements and strengthening your muscles. This improves your rehabilitation after surgery and enables us to get the best result for your from your operation.

Corporate Physio

We specialise in prevention of work injuries, the management and treatment of pain complaints and the return of staff to work. As musculoskeletal conditions are the most common cause of staff absence or limitation in ability, it’s a good investment to have a physiotherapy programme specifically targeted at staff health and wellbeing.

We offer cost-effective physiotherapy packages for businesses to reduce sickness absence and help your staff work to the best of their abilities. The results will be reflected in your business profit and performance.
