About One Step Neuro Physiotherapy

At One Step Neuro Physiotherapy we offer expert assessment, treatment and management of neurological conditions. We are a mobile service and come to your place of residence so we can see how you are managing in your normal environment.

We are based near Salisbury but cover adjacent areas of neighbouring counties for home visits including Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire and Somerset.

We can help you whatever stage of your condition you are at. Conditions we are expert in include:

  • Stroke
  • Brain injury or head injury
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Guillain Barre syndrome

and many other neurological conditions.

How We Can Help You

With a neurological condition it is common to suffer from problems like weakness, poor balance, muscle spasms, shaking and tremor, changed postures and pain and stiffness. These can all affect your ability to rest comfortably, move about and to do normal daily activities.

We can help you minimise the problem symptoms and develop and maintain your abilities to do the things you want to.

We Come To You

Our specialist physiotherapists will give you a full assessment, looking at your abilities to move, your strength, your ability to do activities and to understand what is necessary to get the best out of yourself. In neurological physiotherapy we aim to encourage your postures and movements to become more normal and more efficient so you can do more.

Treatments we use include hands on facilitation of movement, stretching, strengthening exercises, postural alterations, education and advice and the use of technology or aids.

Longer Term Management

Because neurological conditions are long-term conditions, we can provide maintenance programmes, management strategies and advice such as stretching programmes and assistance with positioning and seating. We are very pleased to work with other teams such as NHS professionals or other private providers you have engaged, to assist in achieving your goals.

After a comprehensive assessment to find out how neurological rehabilitation will help you, we discuss the findings with you, your relatives and/or your care team. We will give you a frank assessment of what you could achieve within a specific time period.

Once your individually tailored treatment plan has bee discussed and agreed, we can proceed with the in-person sessions and give you advice and exercise programmes to continue on your own. Training your carers or family members may be key in maintaining the focus on rehabilitation throughout the day.
